What are your hours?

Do I need an appointment to get an estimate?
No appointment is necessary.  However, you may call and make an appointment to avoid the possibility of waiting.  We can quickly diagnose your vehicle's problem and give you an estimate for the repair.

What should I do if I have a warning light on?

Bring the vehicle in (if possible) and we will quickly plug in a scan tool which will read the codes that your car is bringing up. If you are unable to bring it the vehicle, give us a call and depending on where you are located, we may be able to send someone over to scan the codes and/or pick up the vehicle.

My headlights are dim or very dull. Do I need new headlights or do I need to replace the bulbs?

Often, the plastic on headlights will become foggy over time due to oxidation and moisture. At River Valley Auto, we utilize a lens restoration product developed by 3M which restores the plastic back to its original clearness.

How long would you typically have a vehicle “in the shop”?

Generally most all repairs take less than one full day.

Do you offer pick up or delivery services?

Yes, we try to accommodate our customers as best as possible and offer free pick up & delivery services to our local customers.

How long do oil changes normally take?
A standard oil change on a normal day generally takes 10-15 minutes.

Can I make appointments for routine maintenance?
Most maintenance we can generally get you in and out. But since we do try to accommodate our customers as best as possible, you are able to call ahead and make appointments for anything!

Will you "bury or waive my deductible" on covered collision repair claims?
From time to time, we are asked if we will waive or bury the deductible on automobile damage that is covered by a customer's collision insurance. The simple answer is no, we do not waive the deductible, and here are our reasons:

  1. Conspiring to "bury the deductible" with inflated charges is considered to be insurance fraud and is against the law.
  2. A body shop willing to cheat an insurance company is equally willing to cheat the vehicle's owner.
  3. A body shop never really "absorbs" the cost of the deductible. The value is offset by skimping on the actual repair, so it's the owner who actually takes the loss on a depreciated vehicle.
  4. If a body shop decides to cut corners, the repair ends up second rate. Consequently, the vehicle's owner has no grounds for complaint if he/she conspired to waive or bury the deductible.

The smart thing for a car owner to do is protect his/her investment with a first class job from a first class shop and be glad that all he/she has to do is pay the deductible.

What is deductible reimbursement and how can it save me money?
An auto deductible reimbursement program provides reimbursement for the deductible amount of your auto insurance policy in the event your vehicle is involved in a covered accident and the dollar amount needed to repair the damage exceeds your deductible.

Are you able to fill propane is anything besides my gas grill?
Yes, we can fill propane in anything that is portable enough to make it to our shop and uses LP gas / propane in a DOT approved container. Boats, Motorhomes, & RVs are some of the other things we fill.

Do you work on motorhomes?
Yes, we have qualified technicians on staff and our back building is 56’ x 75’, so will fit most motorhomes as well as large trucks.
